Summer Schools 2021!
Portishead Drama Project was a 'Play in three days' project celebrating Local History. The young people worked so hard telling many local Stories from Industry to War and a synchronised swimming routine at the Lido (On Land!) This project welcomed young people from a wide age range to work collaboratively together to tell the stories in a fun and imaginative way bringing history to life!
We also hosted a two day Musical Theatre workshop this summer where we worked with Professional Vocal coach Rachel Mason to present our own Version of 'School of Rock' in two days!
Rhubarb Launches free online interactive stories for children and Young People in Lockdown.
We wanted to create some fun, free and interactive Drama provisions for children during Lockdown. The idea for the Hugo Interactive Stories was born! Each of these videos 'Hugo's Jungle Adventure' & 'Hugo in Space' was written, filmed and edited by Rhubarb in a week... in Lockdown! Filming took place in a conservatory and the cast could only make use of things from around the house.
These videos include the whole Rhubarb staff team, with two of the staff living together in a 'bubble' and the other team members filming their bits independently from home before being edited together. We hope you enjoy!
We are proud to be a 'COVID secure' business.
We have completed our COVID-19 Risk Assessment, and shared the results with our staff team and have completed online training in the signs, symptoms and prevention of COVID-19.
We have completed training in Mental Health awareness to help any of our students who may be feeling anxious at this time.
We have cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures in place in line with Government guidance.
We are taking all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in classes with the use of floor markers.
Classes will be in small, socially distanced, consistent bubbles.
We are operating a one way system in and out of the building, and have sanitising stations on entry and exit.
We are implementing strict cleaning procedures before, during and after classes to maintain the highest level of cleanliness.
